JaneDoesSecurity Documenting my journey through cybersecurity - one lab, book, and certification at a time.

Hi, I’m Jane - a cybersecurity professional with a passion for continuous learning.

I currently hold the CISSP certification and I’m studying for the CCSP.

I currently work as a Threat Detection Engineer, having started my security career as a SOC Analyst. My interests span several areas of security, including threat detection, security architecture, incident response, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), and hands-on technical security.

I’m particularly interested in understanding how attackers behave in real environments and how defenders can detect and respond to those behaviours effectively.

Outside of work, I enjoy exploring security in different ways. This includes reading security-themed books (which inspired the Security Bookshelf section of this site), working through hands-on labs to build practical skills, listening to the Darknet Diaries podcast while doing housework or walking, and writing about what I learn.

I started this blog as a place to document my learning journey, share ideas, and reflect on the topics that interest me in cybersecurity.

This site is my personal learning journal as I continue developing my skills in the field.
